Kitchen

While Rich was gone last week I decided to take on a few projects... They were pretty small projects like sorting his socks, replacing a few door knobs but there was one that wasn't so small. I decided to paint the kitchen. !!!! Sounds easy enough, right? Yep, it sounds easy but it was not actually easy. I had Amir with me while I did it. It took approx. seven hours, divided into two days to finish. No our kitchen is not big. But I had to keep repainting where there was a hand print and the occasional bum print. *sigh*

I had to have my brother come help me move the refrigerator and the stove so I could paint behind them. That was also hard to do with Amir around. Amir LOVES Sami and all he ever wants to do while he is here is play, play, play!

But we finally got it done and here are a few pictures:

My brother Sami FINALLY got his mission papers in last week and he got his call back a few days ago.. He is going to London, England the end of May. WOO! Everyone is really excited for him. Everyone put a guess in on where he was going, in my mom's case, where she WANTED him to go. I guessed England, english speaking. Sami made fun of me for saying it and BAM! That sure blew up in his face (muah haha!)

I'm personally extra excited because he's got so many girls that like him its insane. I'm happy he will get away from that for a while. Plus, he'll have to be on his own and make his own food... Most of the time anyway.

Cute Boys

Last week I spent some time with an old friend from school, Mandi. I haven't seen her since her baby shower! We were last in school together SEVEN years ago!!!! Where does time go? She has a little boy who is about a year younger than Amir. They were so cute together:

I was looking through some old pictures of when I was about 12 (And Mandi had to have been 10 or 11) when we were in dance together. HA! I know Mandi would totally kill me if I posted those pictures on here so I will refrain... All I will say is that they are super hilarious.

My sister goes to the same studio that we went to and they have pictures of every dancer that ever performed. So they had those pictures up on the wall. Thats right Mandi.... We are displayed for everyone to see!!! BAHAHAHAHA!!!

Washer & Dryer

Today my washer quit on me. It has been a champ! We had it for about 2 years. We got it from my sister in law who had it who knows how long before us. Yes, we did have to fix it three or four times but it never fully quit until today. As of now it will not spin so the water just drains out leaving the clothes inside it completely soaked and still not clean.

Since it is not fixable (& really who wants to fix it again anyway? Not us!) and we want to cut or utility bills a little bit we decided to go all out and get a brand new washer and dryer!
** I would like to stop and say how much I love my husband, he is awesome! **

We got front loading, king size Kenmore washer and dryer. They are going to be delivered on Saturday. Needless to say, I am super excited! I'm looking forward to being able to wash ALL of our towels in one load instead of two! And being able to wash our comforter at home instead of either shoving it in and hope it washes (it usually took 3-4 washes to get it clean) or taking it to the laundromat. There is also a specific feature that pretty much sold me on it... The lock feature. Now when I'm not using it I can lock the buttons so no matter what Amir puts in there (cats, toys etc) he cant actually turn it on. Hooray! No more anxiety about finding a dead cat in the dryer.. WOO!

My Little Boy is Growing Up!

First of all, I know what you're thinking... Because I think it every time I snap a picture of Amir.. "Why is he practically naked in every picture!?" Its because he does really cute, funny things after getting his clothes dirty. This is the "in between" time. He's not half naked all the time I promise.

Anyway, onto why I am writing this in the first place. My baby little boy can now officially reach (with a stool of course) the bathroom sink. He washes his own hands, brushes his own teeth and even gets up on the potty all by himself. *cries* The picture above is him with his toothbrush in his mouth. Yes, he got it by himself. He had to climb up to the sink, stretch a little bit to get to the cupboard above the sink to get his toothbrush. He's also figured out that if he puts the toilet seat cover down he can climb up and get to where most of my stuff is. Body spray, hair straightener, etc.

In a nutshell... HE IS A LITTLE BOY! He's not a baby anymore. Which makes me sad and happy. He's such an independent boy, I'm proud of him.

New Camera!

After a few months of my camera occasionally working to not working at all I FINALLY got a new camera today! It is pretty much just the new version of the one I had before... So in a nutshell it takes better pictures, is smaller and just better all around. :)

Happy New Year!

Well, its officially 2010! Brand new year = Brand new layout for the blog! WOO!

Anyway, I've never been much good at making & keeping New Years Resolutions but I think this year will be different! How do I know? Because I've never made a real commitment to actually do one.

So here is my list:

1. Lose Weight... I'm not going to state how much weight I would like to lose but there is a number in the goal.
2. Eat healthier.
3. Finish the basement of our house!
4. Give blood (breathe!!! needles are scary)
5. Do more to help others.

Thats all I've got. So I think that should be really easy to accomplish! (famous last words maybe?)
