DIY Continued....

Homemade Bar soap

I got the recipe here. I used about 20 drops of essential oil but it was not enough. I will use at least double next time!

 I did about 80% EVOO and 20% Coconut oil. Next time I will use more coconut oil!

I looked into soap molds, they are really pricey. So I just took a page out of Jillee's book and used an old Tupperware container.

Tada! 

Next was Homemade Diaper Rash Cream

I usually just use Tea Tree Oil & Coconut oil mixed together straight in the container. But then I decided to do a mixture of that, Baby Soap & Distilled water in a little spray bottle. No bum touching & it works like a charm!!!

*Note: During warm months I didn't have to do anything to it but give it a little shake before spraying it on. During colder months it has to be warmed a little. Running it under hot water works great or just store it next to a heat vent ;)

1st Trimester Ultrasound

I guess its pretty uncommon to get more than one ultrasound in one pregnancy. But I guess I'm one of the lucky ones and I get two. This first one was to determine how far along I am and to make sure there is only one fetus. FYI, there is only one. *whew!*

My second ultrasound will be at 20 weeks to determine the gender of the babe. 

Baby the Second

Well it looks like I went through all the blood tests at the doctor for no reason because I'M PREGNANT!




My due date is estimated to be Jan 20th but that may change with the ultrasound that they will do to determine how far along I am.

My Little Boy is Growing Up!

First of all, I know what you're thinking... Because I think it every time I snap a picture of Amir.. "Why is he practically naked in every picture!?" Its because he does really cute, funny things after getting his clothes dirty. This is the "in between" time. He's not half naked all the time I promise.

Anyway, onto why I am writing this in the first place. My baby little boy can now officially reach (with a stool of course) the bathroom sink. He washes his own hands, brushes his own teeth and even gets up on the potty all by himself. *cries* The picture above is him with his toothbrush in his mouth. Yes, he got it by himself. He had to climb up to the sink, stretch a little bit to get to the cupboard above the sink to get his toothbrush. He's also figured out that if he puts the toilet seat cover down he can climb up and get to where most of my stuff is. Body spray, hair straightener, etc.

In a nutshell... HE IS A LITTLE BOY! He's not a baby anymore. Which makes me sad and happy. He's such an independent boy, I'm proud of him.

5 Days 'til Christmas!

Richard & I got a kit from Costco for making a gingerbread house. So we put it together last week. It turned out pretty awesome.




In other news, we went to the MonaVie Christmas party on Friday. It was pretty awesome. For entertainment they had Kurt Bestor play. He is GREAT! They also gave out his CD as the Christmas gift for the employee's. That and candy, popcorn and the DVD; The Polar Express. That part I was pretty excited for. :)

We also went and saw baby Gus (who was born on Tuesday) he is the cutest baby I've ever seen!

Anyway, FIVE DAYS TIL CHRISTMAS!! WOO HOO!!! I'm getting really excited!

Crazy Texas 2009

Katherine, Matt, Amir and I all went to San Antonio for the Labor Day weekend. It was pretty last minute so Amir and I didn't sit with Katherine and Matt for the plane rides. On the plane ride to Texas Amir and I sat up in First Class which was great because Amir got his own seat and we could set up my laptop so he could watch some movies. We left Salt Lake around 7:30pm and the plane ride was three hours. So towards the end of the three hours Amir was trying to get comfy on the floor to go to sleep. Luckily the flight attendant and the people around us were pretty patient. I've got a pretty loud child when he expresses himself... Happy, sad... He's always loud.

We landed in San Antonio around 11:00pm so Amir was very ready for bed. He didn't fall asleep but as soon as we got to Emily's house he was somewhat easy to put down. After he played in the toy room that is.

The next morning (Saturday) Amir and I got up around 7:00am and was surprised to find just about everyone awake except for Katherine and Matt. I was still pretty much asleep when I went into the kitchen so at first I was a little confused as to what was going on....

Emily and her family planned a surprise baby shower for Katherine. It was a lot of fun. We started off with Katherine and Matt wearing their bibs then we played a few games...

We had to guess what was in some bags, pass a pacifier with a straw, baby food tasting and last but not least; a chocolate milk chugging contest.... With baby bottles!! (size 1 nipple) Then it was onto gifts. There were some really cute outfits for baby Gus!

It rained most of Saturday so we stayed in the house except for when Jon, Emily, Matt and I went to get some yummy mexican icecream bars. They were REALLY yummy and of course the lady working there thought I spoke spanish so was talking to me and I had no idea what she was saying.

On Sunday we went to church. Amir looked so cute in his nice clothes but everytime I told him to stand and smile for the camera he would drop to the floor and pretend to sleep. Katherine ended up holding him up while I took his picture.

Later that day we went swimming and even though it felt warm outside before we got in the pool it was freezing water and when we got out it was extra freezee!

Monday morning we got up at 5:00am to catch our plane. The plane ride home was pretty mellow. Katherine and Matt sat behind Amir and I on this plane. Which was great because Amir ended up falling asleep on Katherine's lap and pretty much slept the whole way.

The trip was a lot of fun but we are happy to be home. Back to our normal sleep and napping routine!
