The Package... & a Side Note

Well here it is.. Everything that my mom & I sent to my brother & his companion...

A photo album, soft flag balls, pine cones, vitamins, quinoa, jennies cookies, Hershey bars, beef jerky, paddle balls, Utah truffles, random 4 of July stuff, kool aide, honey sticks & Instant breakfasts = 6 lbs. $41.09 later, its in the mail. Ridiculous. Hopefully he will be getting all of this before the 4th.

**A message to my neighbors... I don't know who you are but I know your car.. If your car alarm goes off, at least twice, at the same time everyday there is something wrong with your CAR.... It was funny the first week... But now, months later - its not funny anymore. Just annoying. Maybe you should look into getting that fixed.

Fathers Day

Amir wanted to say hi to his grandpa, here is the video that we sent him. SO CUTE!

July Crafts

Since Independence day is only a couple weeks away Amir and I painted some pine cones red white and blue. There is a HUGE tree by my moms house that drops a bunch of pine cones so we gathered up a few on our last visit. Then we just used some washable paint to color them. Amir really loves to paint. I think I can safely say its one of his top 3 things to do. The other two being playing in water (IN THE HOUSE AND OUTSIDE!) & digging in the dirt. :)


We are sending these pine cones to my brother (the one on a mission) and his current companion for the fourth of July. We made them just in time because we are sending him a package tomorrow!


One more thing... I've been sending Sami weekly emails & I finally got a personal response yesterday... it said: "I miss Amir!" THAT WAS IT! Ha ha ha. He's a funny guy. :P

Calling All Twilight Fans!

I read the book "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner" today. Its by Stephanie Meyer (the author of the Twilight series) Its a really good read. Its a short one, I read it in about 90 minutes. Remember the newborn vampires in the book Eclipse? It is their story. I love that Stephanie did this for her fans... There is always two sides of a story and you very rarely get to hear both sides.

I highly recommend reading this book, especially if you are a Twilight fan.

Redecorate: Bathroom & Kitchen

I redecorated some of my house! The bathroom and the kitchen... The bathroom isn't quite finished but I haven't found anything to put on the walls yet. Here are some of the things that I did so far...

Redecorate....

I have decided to do a "theme" in each room of our house.... Starting with the kitchen. Since I painted it a kind of subtle earthy brown I decided on an Asian theme... I've ordered Sakura Blossom wall decals & I bought some small tiles to go above two of the windows with an Asian theme. 


Next will be our bedroom... I'm not going to do any specific theme but just have a bunch of quotes on the walls. One of which I ordered from Amazon.com with the Sakura Blossoms.... I got a Dr. Seuss Quote wall decal & I plan on getting at least one more of quote by Dr. Seuss for the bedroom. I currently have another wall decal quote above our bed. 


After the bedroom comes both bathrooms. I haven't picked a definite theme for either of them... But the upstairs bathroom is a dark blue & the downstairs I plan on staining the walls a darker color, everything else is white. If anyone has any ideas for the bathrooms let me know. There is not a lot of wall space in either bathroom. 


The dining room I am keeping the same. Pictures and flowers is all... I do however want to pain the walls a different color. I also would like to do more painting with Amir on canvas like we did last year. That was a lot of fun and his painting turned out really awesome. (its currently hanging above the piano)


The TV room downstairs is about done... All I need are two wall decorations that are at the store... Amir's room is also finished (Iron Man) The rest of the rooms in the house still needs to be refinished so I haven't even thought about it yet.

Scary Dentist

Last week Amir and I went to the dentist. The first visit was just for me but my dentist recommended that I bring Amir along since he was in need of a check up. When we got to my dentist appointment he was totally fine until he saw what the dentist was doing to my teeth. He got scared and didn't let him look at his teeth. Since my dentist isn't a peds dentist he said I should go to one because they are better equipped to handle a child such as mine.

Later in the week we went to Amir's new peds dentist. He was horrified even though I told him he was the nice dentist. (HA!) We ended up sort of holding him down while the dentist checked his teeth.
I knew that Amir had at least two cavities... But the dentist found FOUR! AH! Four cavities!?! They need to be fixed so our choices were to go up to Primary Children's Surgical Center or have him sedated with an IV in office. The price difference is $3,500 - $350.... Needless to say, we are going with the IV sedation... His appointment is in August.. There must be a lot of kids who need to be put out because that was their first opening!

I'm not looking forward to getting him put out but I am looking forward to nice looking teeth again.
