Update on the Fish!

We got some new fish a couple days ago from Petco. We got an algea eater, a black something and a Bala shark (whatever those are called) We also got 2 more frogs to keep Rudy company.

Well, the black fish is dead. He died today. Charles is eating him. The shark died the morning after we got him. I don't know why he died :(

The bigger of the two frogs that we got died. He died yesterday. We hadn't even been able to photograph or name the ones that died. I guess I could take a picture of the black fish... But I don't think anyone wants to see a now spotted white, black fish. Charles really went at it..

I will get some pictures posted of the survivors.. I never would have guessed that our Walmart fish would out live our Petco fish!!!

Salesman

A salesman came to the door today. I answered it and when I did he said: "Hi! Is your mom around?"

I looked at him with what I'm sure was the look of unexpected shock. He turned red and recovered by saying "Or are you the mom? You can never tell these days...."

This man could not have been much older than me! Do I really look that young? I was even sporting the "mother" look today; Shorts, T-shirt with greasy hair pulled back into a pony tail with no make up! Plus the obvious "I'm a mother" bags under my eyes.

Sheesh.

Upstairs Bathroom! (finally finished!)

We decided to somewhat remodel the upstairs bathroom.

We are:

• Painting
• Redoing some of the plumbing
• Moving the sink where the toilet is
• Moving the toilet where the sink is
• Replacing the tile

Needless to say, we wont be taking on a project like this for a while. Even though the end result was awesome! Our weekend job turned into almost a whole week!!

Isheys and Shisheys

Yesterday morning Rich & Amir came home from the pet store with a surprise. A Fish Tank! Or as Amir calls them "Isheys" and/or "Shisheys". There are six fish, one frog and one snail.

The frog is in this picture but he is hard to spot. I will keep trying to get him to come out for his photo shoot. His name is Rudy. I wanted to name him Gimpy but Rich didn't want me to because he said it was lame. Lame is the fact that Rudy is missing half of one of his front legs! Hence the reason I wanted to name him Gimpy!
This is the snail. Not the greatest picture but this snail is awesome! His name is Charles.
These are some of the four fish that Rich cant remember the type of fish that they are. Their names are: Zepplin [bigger stripped fish] Beatrice [bigger white fish] Squirmey [smaller white fish] and Speedy [smaller stripped fish]

and this is Deeno the tetra. Yes tat is Rich's reflection in this picture. Creepy, I know.

Amir named Deeno and Fluffy. The rest Rich and I came up with the names. Amir loves the fish tank. He stayed up way too late last night watching them... Well, we all did. I feel like I spent most of my day in front of the fish tank yesterday! I love it! I'm glad we have it. We have had the tank for approx. 25 hours and all the fish are going strong. If I had to pick who is going to go first I think Rudy will. He seems to be the weak link.

Mangey Mutt

We took Jasper to the vet about two weeks ago for his routine shots along with Ruthie. We also got this weird spot on his shoulder checked out because he was losing his hair in that area. Turned out it was mange. That's right, I had no idea that "Mangey Mutt" actually had a meaning. How did I not know this you ask? I have no idea. I guess I've never owned a dumb dog before. (haha)

[Jasper]

Another thing we found out: Jasper is sterile. His boys haven't dropped nor will they ever drop. We have to get them removed because they will likely turn into cancer if they stay up there. I guess we should have just assumed that he was defective because of his lack 'o tail... So much for a stud, eh? I guess its for the best. Since Jasper is 11lbs and Ruthie is only 9lbs. Remember, Jasper is 9 months old and Ruthie is coming up on 2 years old. Bummer. Looks like we will just have to breed her with something small and yippee... Chihuahua... Poodle... MinPin... *Insert evil grin here*

Bear Lake

We went to Bear Lake this weekend. It was a lot of fun.

Amir really loved it. He loved the sand mostly. He would dip his toes in the water and was semi-okay with it when Rich took him into the water with him. But he REALLY loved the sand.







Rich and Amir played in the sand almost the whole time. They made a big sandcastle.


When Rich went out into the water without Amir (and Amir noticed) he would throw sand at him. :)


Katherine and Matt drove up with us. It took us forever to get back home because we stopped so many times.
